Go on a Media Diet

Share this blog:

I prefer good news. Optimistic news. Inspirational news. Positive news. I just can’t find much of that kind of news on TV or on the radio. I think I understand why.

The news media have an obligation to give their audience what it wants. And it’s clear that most people want to hear about the worst of things, rather than the best of things.

I’m not in that audience demographic so I chose to turn my attention elsewhere.

As a result of that choice, I’ve been on a media “diet” for a decade. That means I don’t watch the news and I don’t listen to talk radio. I don’t care about breaking news, and I’m skeptical that the TV weather people are really trying to keep me ‘safe.’
