Alison Qualter Berna and Allison Schlanger, Co-Founders, Seeding Franchise Growth with Systems – Episode 95

Share this blog:

Allison Schlanger and Alison Qualter Berna are the Co-Founders, along with their husbands, Craig and Bobby, of Apple Seeds all-in-one play spaces for families with children newborn to five years old, and Songs For Seeds, a state of the art rockin’ music program for newborns to 6 year old’s that they’ve franchised and grown to 22 locations in 9 states.

Allison and Alison met as new Mom’s, each with a set of twins, and bonded over the difficulties they faced finding a music class facility in New York City that was clean, kid-friendly and easily accessible. They created Apple Seeds to become the vision they’d imagined. Songs for Seeds was initially developed just for Apple Seeds. The idea to franchise it came when they realized the impact it could have by bringing music to kids and caregivers throughout the country.

Mike and the Allison’s cover a ton of great stuff in this episode, like how their 9 month business planning was like a perfect pregnancy, what made them leave their successful careers to solve a problem they hadn’t anticipated before having kids, how the frustration of having to make things up on a daily basis as entrepreneurs led to their desire to create systems and processes that could be easily followed and replicated, how they have always been Dream Big people, how they think about the difference between business ownership and entrepreneurship and how they acted on the ideas from their community of clients to create and franchise the songs for seeds concept.

And now here’s Allison Schlanger and Alison Qualter Berna.
