Andrew Rush is a Vice President with Carpedia International, a Toronto based Management Consulting firm who’s proven tools and methods help clients align their organizations to deliver consistent, predictable results. He’s a graduate of Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. Andrew began his career with Carpedia after meeting Mark Holland, who was working at the company and would eventually become Andrew’s mentor, at a birthday party. Over the next 4 years, he had the opportunity to engage with more than 25 clients all over the world, and in a variety of industries, helping them improve their business process and results.
After deciding to make a lifestyle change and start a family, Andrew held executive positions with a number of Toronto based manufacturing firms that provided him with the opportunity to help make a more significant impact at a single company while also exposing him to what he describes as a “different kind of hard” from the work he was doing as a consultant. Recently, Andrew returned to Carpedia in a newly created role where he speaks and advises CEO’s about important issues like Core Values, Culture, Humility, Results and Team.
Mike and Andrew cover a ton of great stuff in this episode, including the importance of creating a planning and forecasting mind set, making radical candor in an organization feel safe, the lessons he learned as a college athlete and the personal introspection that came from a union organizing effort, the cause for which was largely attributed to him.
