Erik Weir is the founder and principal of WCM Global Wealth, where Erik and his team seek to deliver optimum quality investment advice and money management for high net-worth investors. He opened Weir Capital Management in 1999, developing a global client base for financial solutions, twice named one of the fastest growing companies in South Carolina by the state’s Chamber of Commerce before launching WCM Global Wealth in 2011.
While on an adventure trip through the Amazon with his eldest son to film a movie “Into the Amazon,” Erik saw the opportunity to provide and organize capital for filmmakers, who really need to focus on telling great stories and not distracted with financing production. Erik co-founded WTA Group and the team has participated in several films including Apollo 11, Unbroken: Path to Redemption, Soul Surfer, Mom’s Night Out, and many more.
Mike and Erik cover a ton of great stuff in this episode like a traumatic event that resulted in a stutter and why he views his stutter as a gift, the impact of his counselor telling him he’s not going to have an easy life, how competing in martial arts taught him to overcome failure, his approach on overcoming fear, why it is liberating to realize no one is coming to save you, the result of people who adopt a perseverance mindset, the 4 things he talks with super wealthy people about, and much more.
And now here’s Erik Weir.
