Giacomo Fallucca, CEO, Stretching Family Dough into a Pizza Empire – Episode 74

Share this blog:

Giacomo Falluca is the CEO of Palermo’s, one of the largest independent frozen pizza brands and contract pizza manufacturer in the US with more than 650 employees and revenue of several hundred million dollars annually. Palermo’s brands include Palermo’s, Screamin’ Sicilian, Urban Pie and Connie’s. Giacomo is a member of Vistage and one of a few select members of Dr. Tom Hill’s, Hill’s Angel Group. He’s significantly involved in the community, serving or having served as Board Member for Operation Dream, The Milwaukee Metropolitan Association of Commerce and US Bank . Oh, and he’s also an owner of the NBA’s Milwaukee Bucks.

Giacomo credits his Mom and Dad for his success. After immigrating to the US from Palermo, Sicily, his parents opened a restaurant on Milwaukee’s east side where Giacomo would observe the operations from his playpen until he was old enough to be put to work washing dishes, cleaning tables and cooking when he was in high school. The restaurant became a big success, with long waits at busy times. To keep his waiting customers happy, Gaspare – Giacomo’s Dad, would serve French bread pizza snacks baked fresh in the restaurant’s ovens. That idea became the catalyst that shifted the family from the restaurant business to the frozen pizza business in the late 70’s. And the rest, as they say, is history.

Mike and Giacomo cover a ton of great stuff in this episode, including how much he enjoyed working as a kid and having money in his pocket, the importance of mentors in his life, why he’s always seeking out people who are ahead of him, how having a Board of Directors changed the trajectory of his company and how Bob Prosen’s MORP process changed his thinking about what a successful company really looks like.

And now here’s Giacomo Fallucca.
