Matt Morin is the Founder & CEO of Home Fit, the customized workout that comes to you. Matt launched Home Fit after starting his career as a professional MMA fighter and professional fitness trainer. He saw an opportunity and a need to deliver his unique and proven fitness approach to clients in the privacy of their own homes and at the time that works best for them.
Matt admits that he is still in the process of Making it Happen. Having grown up in a wrestling family and having exceptional success in high school, Matt’s college wrestling career at the University of Wisconsin was cut short by a serious knee injury. While rehabbing that injury, Matt made the decision to add a major in Philosophy to his Business major and, when he was cleared for action from his injury, he began his training as a mixed martial arts fighter under Adrian Serrano, one of the wrestling and MMA greats. After a 10-year fighting career, Matt re-engaged with his philosophy and spiritual roots and pursued a graduate degree in Theology at Duke University.
Mike and Matt cover a ton of great stuff in this episode, including an important discussion about obligations, how his decision to go to Divinity school at age 30 came as a response to him missing “thinking about things” that might be over his head, why things always look different in reverse than they look when you’re going forward, and why he describes his approach as the Amazon Prime version of personal training. Forget what you might imagine a mixed martial arts fighter to be like and get prepared for the humble and inspirational Matt Morin.
And now here’s Matt Morin.
