17 Of My Best Leadership Podcast Episodes - Mike Malatesta

Hey everybody, welcome back to another list of my best leadership podcast episodes. I interview a lot of entrepreneurs and business owners about leadership, what leadership means to them, what leadership means to their culture, and how good and bad leadership impacts how people perform and treat one another. I’ve listed 17 of my best leadership podcast episodes, below. I have a few details to help interest you. They are all great episodes from exceptional leaders, but I’d encourage you to listen to at least one – and see what lessons you can take-away and start implementing in your role as a leader. And if you share the episode on LinkedIn and your thoughts, please mention me, and I’ll be happy to respond to your post! I really enjoyed these conversations, and I think you will too!

2. Why Selfish Leadership Comes Before Selfless Leadership (#245)

Most of the time, leaders aspire to become the selfless head of the pack—someone who will never put their interest and even their growth over others. As much as we think that this is great, it can be detrimental not only to you but also to your team. In this episode, I talk about how I became a better leader and allowed my team to grow more when I became selfish. Sometimes, we need to be selfish and figure out who we truly are first before we can selflessly serve others. Listen Now!

6. Ten Leadership Habits that Work, for Me at Least (#30.5)

For me, being a great Leader comes down to the execution of what it takes.  To the doing of what it takes. To the habits of what it takes.  What worked for me and gave me the ability to lead my company from a 2-person start-up to a 150-person regional industry Transformer are these 10 habits. It came down to the careful, constant, and admittedly imperfect, application of the following 10 Leadership Habits. Listen Now!

7. The Right 12 Questions (#289)

As a leader, do you know the 12 right questions you should be asking your team? Did you know that these questions could help people join, stay, and love working for you. At the same time, these questions can help you know where your leadership is falling short, or causing your team to leave or creating chaos. One of the most compelling reasons employees stay or leave, is because of the environment they work in. As a leader you can make a dramatic impact on that environment with these 12 questions. I do it to make a difference.

I’m very selective about my OwnerShift coaching relationships. I ONLY work with these kinds of clients:

  1. Entrepreneurs and CEOs of profitable, privately held companies leading companies with revenues between $10M and $250M.
  2. Leaders who are committed to moving beyond where they are professionally and personally AND have the autonomy to make the decisions and take the actions necessary to do so.
  3. People who value making significant investments in themselves
  4. Kind people.

OwnerShift is an exclusive and customized one on one coaching program for high-performing entrepreneurs and CEOs. It’s designed to guide them to the bigger and brighter personal and professional future they want to own and make their property.

In the OwnerShift program, my client is the Hero, and I am their Guide. I will never have all the answers, but I will always ask the right questions.

My mission is to help every client identify, sharpen, and leverage the tools in themselves, and those in their companies, to make significant progress toward their most important life goals.
